Nudging is to move a line a fixed distance each time you press an arrow key on
the keyboard. You can specify the nudge distance. For example, you might want to
move lines 1/10" for each key press.
To set the nudge distance:
- Choose Edit | Preferences | 2D.
- Enter the desired value in Nudge Step.
- Click OK.
Holding down the Alt key while nudging will move a line 5 times the
normal nudge distance.
You can constrain rotations to a multiple of a certain angle. For example, you
might want to rotate an object a multiple of exactly 15 degrees. The selected angle
is called the rotation snap angle. The rotation snap angle is applied when you hold
the CTRL key while rotating.
To set the rotation snap angle:
- Choose Edit | Preferences | 2D.
- Set the desired value in Rotation Snap Angle.
15 degrees is often useful.
- Click OK.
To specify how circles will be represented, check radius
or diameter. For example, when adding holes
to your design you would normally want to use the diameter option. When adding arcs,
radius is generally more convenient.
