Connecting Tube
The connecting tube provides air passage from the
cylinder to the chamber. A nylon cap press fits to the rear opening of the cylinder. A short brass tube press fits to the
cylinder plate to connect the tube to the chamber. PVC tubing was used. Alternatives: an earlier prototype used a cylinder that mounted directly to the plate and drilled holes provided the air passage. This avoided the need for the tube but required a large rectangular cylinder housing.
