eMachineShop has fabricated numerous custom shift knobs for auto enthusiasts - for both personal use and resale. Custom shift knobs are usually made of aluminum, however stainless and even titanium are options for ultra luxury. In most cases the following processes are used:

• CNC Milling - for legend engraving
  
• Threading - for the internal thread
  
• CNC Turning (Lathe)- for the overall shape
  

In the eMachineShop CAD software, the Revolve and Spline features are usually combined as they allow to make smooth profile curves of any shape.
