Sheet fiberglass is used for:
- Auto bodies
- Lighting fixtures
- Aircraft
- Sound control and panels of aircrafts and automobiles
- Electrical insulation
- Sound absorption panels
- Translucent roofing panels
- Boat hulls
- Aircraft wing skins
- Etc.
Sheet fiberglass is not normally cut by laser due to toxic fumes. Fiberglass sheet can be routed and milled although tool wear is high.
At 1/4 inch thickness fiberglass sheet is typically approx. 2.48 lb per sq. ft or 0.017 lb per sq. in.
