Intersecting
The intersection feature is an essential tool you will use when creating drawings

Intersecting lines are lines that cross each other. You can split lines where they intersect, a powerful feature essential for creating numerous shapes.
Learn the Intersect command, a key tool for
drawing almost any design. |
For example, you could create a "D" shape by drawing a vertical line through
a circle; applying the intersect command; and deleting the line segments external
to the "D" shape.

You can intersect multiple lines.
To split multiple intersecting lines:
- Select two or more lines to
be intersected.
- Choose Line | Intersect.
- Select and delete any unwanted line segments to achieve the desired
shape.
You can intersect one line at the points where other lines intersect it. For example,
if you select a straight line crossing a circle
the Intersect command will divide the straight line
into 3 parts, the circle line being unaffected.
To split one line that crosses another shape:
- Select the line you want to
divide into segments.
- Choose Line | Intersect.
- Delete any unwanted line segments to achieve the desired shape.
For example, to draw a Popsicle stick:
- Draw a rectangle.
- Places circles at
both ends.
- Apply the Intersect command.
- Delete the unneeded
segments.

To draw a simple cross:
- Draw two intersecting rectangles.
- Apply the Intersect command.
- Delete the central segments.

To draw a flower shape:
- Draw a large circle and several small circles.
- Apply the Intersect command.
- Delete the unneeded segments.

To draw a heart:
- Draw two circles tangent to each other.
- Draw the tangent straight lines.
- Apply the Intersect command.
- Delete the unneeded segments.
