Parameterized Curves

A parameterized curve is a line whose Y coordinate can be calculated as a function of the X coordinate. You can use such lines in your design. For example, you might need to have one side of the part shaped according to the parabolic function: Y = X2.

To add a parameterized curve to your design:
  1. Select a software package capable of drawing parameterized curves that can export to DXF format.
  2. Generate the curve and export to DXF.
  3. In the eMachineShop software import the DXF file.

"This is my first time using CAD software and in a few minutes I designed what I needed. The software is extremely easy to use. What a great tool. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to draw what I need. The ability to change tooling, materials, etc. and reprice so quickly is amazing. Also most companies I contacted would not even respond ..."
