Stainless steel sheet is commonly used for:

Stainless steel sheet can be cut with lasers, routing, milling and wire EDM. Blanking and punching is possible but increases wear on tooling.
At 1/4 inch thickness stainless steel sheet is approx. 10.44 lb per sq. ft or 0.072 lb per sq. in.
