You can cut text into your parts for logos and other purposes
You can add text to your drawings. For example you can use text for comments to yourself, comments to the machinist or to cut or machine text or a logo into your part.
To draw text:
Click left toolbar "A" button.
Click in the workspace.
Type the
desired text.
Choose Line | Machine and select Comments To Myself, Comments To Machinist, Silk Screen (to print the text on your part) or Auto (to machine the text into your part). Click OK.
For Silk Screen or Auto text, on the numeric bar
set the font size and select a True Type font. For 2D sheet designs use font "eMachineShop 2D" and set Z to Air Inside. For 3D designs use font "eMachineShop 3D" and enter a small negative Z value (e.g. -.01" to -.05") for the depth of the letters. Arcs inside letters must be at least radius .031".
Choose Job | Price/Analyze and
resolve any advisories. For example you may need to convert text into
primitive line shapes; round sharp corners; enlarge your text; etc.
You can
resize and stretch text in the same way as other lines in your drawing.
However when stretched along one axis, text is converted into splines
and straights, preventing further editing. Therefore it is better to control text size via the numeric bar.
"As a professional CAD designer with over 15 years of CAD experience using nearly every software platform available, eMachineShop has, without a doubt, the most user friendly design package that I've ever encountered. Even my twelve year old can use this program. Accolades to eMachineShop."
