Tooling
A Tool is a customized device for making your specific part. Some machines require
tooling to fabricate your part, such as Blanking.
For machines that require custom tooling you need to specify certain information
about the tooling such as whether eMachineShop will make the tooling, who will store
the tool, and the material to be used for the tool. You can order several copies
of the tool, choose tool material, ask eMachineShop to ship the tool after order
completion, or use a tool from a prior job.
To specify a custom tool settings:
- Choose Job | Settings
- Select the machine.
- Enter the requested data on the right side of the dialog.
- Repeat steps 2-3 for each Tooling Machine.
- Click OK.
For machines that require custom tooling, the tooling can be ordered separately
- without making parts.
To order only tooling:
- Choose Job | Price.
- Set the quantity of parts ordered to 0.
