Transforming
You can change position, size, shape of the line by entering numerical values.
Moving
You can move a line or group of lines to another position. For example you might
need to move a hole one inch to the left.
To move a line:
- Select
the line or group.
- Choose Line | Transform | Move.
- Enter the desired horizontal and vertical distance.
- Click OK.
Rotating
You can rotate any line or group of lines by a numerical values. For example, you might want to rotate a rectangle 30 degrees.
To rotate a line or group of lines numerically:
- Select
the line or group.
- If you want to specify the center of rotation, single click a second time and move the center-of-rotation icon to the desired location (using the snap feature if needed).
- Choose Line | Transform | Rotate.
- Enter the desired angle.
- Click OK.
Mirroring
Mirroring a line creates a mirror image of the line. You can mirror any line
or group of lines horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
To mirror a line:
- Select the line or group.
- If you want to end up with the original AND mirrored line choose
Edit | Copy, Edit | Paste.
- Choose Line | Transform | Mirror.
- Check the desired direction - horizontally or vertically. Check
both to mirror diagonally.
- Click OK.
Scaling
You can change the size of any line or group of lines in your drawing. You can
resize lines horizontally, vertically or both. For example you might need to enlarge
your entire drawing.
To resize a line or group of lines:
- Select
the line or group.
- Choose Line | Transform | Scale.
- Check the desired vertical and horizontal scale. Check
Proportional scaling to scale equally
along both axis.
- Click OK.
Converting splines to arcs
You can convert splines into multiple arcs. For example you might need to convert
to arcs for a machine that does not support splines.
To convert a spline or group of splines into arcs:
- Select
the spline or group containing splines.
- Choose Line | Transform | Convert spline(s)
to arc(s).
- Click OK.
