Cylinder with a concave cutout at the bottom.

i'm trying to create a cylinder spacer that has a curved cutout on the bottom so it will rest on a pipe.

well I've got the cylinder and I'm trying to make a cutout with an arc. I'm able to draw the arc but when I try and intersect it with the cylinder sides it says the lines dont intersect.

I can make a cut out on the side of the cylinder but I cant make a cutaway at the bottom.

Here is my second attempt. I have it selected as air inside but it keeps buolding another block instead of cutting it away.

Referring to the second of your posts:
In Right view delete the line.
In Left view set the line to Air Outside and flip the arc to be concave, not convex.
