Steel milling or blanking?

I'm admittedly a complete layman at this, so the basics of materials and machining are still mysterious to me, even with the help provided.

I'm trying to make a set of table legs, from steel, 1/4" thick in a 'U' shape : 48" x 12". Analyzing the job using either milling or blanking results in no errors, but when I try to price the job, I'm told the size is too big for either one.

Can anyone help me figure out what machine or method I need to use for this piece?

Your drawing seems good but Blanking is for smaller parts. Try the other 2D processes to see which one has the lowest price.

It appears that a Laser cut is possible with my new dimensions...
However, now I'm adding some holes drilled through it and the drill press is not supported - won't even give me a 3d view when it's selected - but I don't really need them threaded...
Wire EDM doesn't seem to work either...
Sorry to make this difficult, but where do you go from here?

Use Milling for the side edges. Wire EDM is not economical here. FYI, doing this design in three pieces bolted together would be much more economical.
