I'm trying to specify a hole to be drilled in a piece. Unfortunately the hole ("air inside") is referenced to the original size of the aluminum stock before milling, which makes the hole almost 3" long (most of it phantom,) whereas it's supposed to be drilled through a relatively thin two walls. I'm not sure how to set the hole up. Please refer to the images below. Thanks for any assistance.

This is when the hole depth is specified as -0.3" in an attempt to drill just through the wall thickness. It's still referenced to the original stock edge.

This is when the hole depth is specified as "air inside". The hole, mostly phantom outside the work, is more than 2.8" deep.

As long as the 3D view looks right, either way is OK.

That's what I figured, but the checking section flags the hole as too long compared to it's diameter so I was trying to correct it. Thanks.
