Mixed Tolerances

I am working on a design using a lathe and would like to assign different tolerances to different revolving lines. The eMachineShop CAD software seems to accept that but the cost impact is not clear. Often there is no cost impact at all even when I assign the tightest tolerance (+/- 0.025 mm) to more than 50% of the revolving lines. Also, assigning a tight tolerance to one particular line may sometimes result in a big price increase. This cost impact behavior raises doubts in my mind about whether assigning mixed tolerances in one design will work. Will it work? Thanks.

Tolerances for individual segments in a revolve line are not handled properly. It's on our issue list. Please use Comments To Machinist for now.

Can I still count on the price produced by the CAD software? If not, how can I get a reasonably accurate estimate of the cost?

Please see Line | Machine | Comments to Machinist for how pricing works.
