Material Weights

Greetngs all,

I'm new to EMS. I'm thinking about using it to create a specialized enclosure where low weight and durability are important. The enclosure will be about 34" x 18" x 20". It will be a specialized cargo box for a small utility trailer. Ideally, it would weigh less than 10 pounds. I was thinking aluminum for durability and weather resistance, but I don't know how much the various materials weigh.

Is there information available anywhere on the weights of various materials?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a different material that would be lightweight, durable, and strong?

In Job | Materials there is a density column in pounds per cubic inch from which you can compute weights. Also Tools | Statistics gives you estimated weight of a given design. Aluminum is usually the best choice for strength and light weight at a reasonable cost. Of course plastics are lighter. Hope that helps.
