Sat Jun 13, 2009 1:03 am silver or gold colored plastic? |
|
|
|
Are there any silver or gold colored plastic options? I want to createa a plastic enclosure that has a metallic look to it. Are there any pictures available of the material types you can select in eMachineShop? It would make selection a lot easier if there was just a small sample image by each choice..
Thanks,
James

Yes you can select silver or gold colored plastic. You can also refer to the colors at Powder Coating Colors.

How do you specify a silver or gold colored plastic given that the software only provides options for "black", "white", "clear", and "green"?
Also, when I read the help on powder coating it sounds like it can only be done on a metal... are you sure this can be done with plastic?
Powder coating is a process that "bakes" powdered plastic onto a metal surface resulting in an appearance like paint, but is more durable. Powder coating is relatively hard and abrasion resistant.
Thanks,
James

You can type the required color in the Job | Material + Color selection combo. For injection molding the colors page is used just to choose the exact color number. Coloring is not done with powder coating.

There is no color selection combo box under job|material... You can only select colors of black, white, or clear by selecting the whole row from job|material... but I do not see anywhere to enter a color from there... The software seems to be changing constantly & options come & go with each new version...
