Making an aluminum computer desk.

I want to make a hollow aluminum computer desk that's going to have a computer inside of it. It's going to need a removable top and holes for USB ports, a CD slot and things like that. It will probably be around 4' by 2', and 3' tall with four legs. The aluminum will be about 0.75" thick.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing but before I learn how to use the CAD software and all that, I'd like to know a ballpark price estimate. Is there any chance it might be under $1000?
