I need a splined shaft that is about 3 inches long. I have attached a picture of the sprocket I am going to use. If you look in the center you will see the splines. Is is possible to get a fully splined shaft through emachineshop.
If so I have a few questions.
What machine do you use (important for finish).
How do I make splines in emachineshop.
Is the cost really high.

Yes it is possible. You can specify the finish you need in Job | Settings | Specifications: Auto. To make a spline you must draw it using the drawing tools. How to repeat a rotated pattern is covered here.
The software will provide the cost.

What machines do you usually use to spline. Like with other customers.

We will use the process most appropriate and cost effective depending on the details of the design and specifications you provide.

A few more questions about splining. Do you have any splining processes that leave a machined (mill) finish. Also if I cant figure out how to design the spline just right could I send the sprocket to you and have you design the spline.
Thank You

Yes, you can specify such finishes using Comments To Machinist. Yes, we can design parts for you - please see: Custom CAD Design Service

Ok a tried to make a splined shaft and it worked. But I went to the auto specification page and was looking at the minimum rounded corners and it would only go down to .050 inch corner. This will not work because this would completely eliminate the splines. Is there a way around this
Thanks!

This limitation will be corrected in an upcoming version. For now just set that line to Comments To Machinist.
