Go kart design

Hey everybody, I'm having trouble with designing a go kart. I have built the basic frame and cannot add wheels because it keeps thinking that I want to add a design to the frame. I need to know how to make a shape and set the depth axis so it will be a few inches from the frame.

Except for 2D parts cut from sheet, you must design one part per drawing. This is the main source of your difficulty.

Is there any way to design parts than add them together after they are all designed. This is only the begining i will be designing suspension setups fabricating my own wheel hubs ect. This is just so much easier and effective than drawing on paper

No. But sometimes we will take a view from one design and copy and paste it onto another design and change the copied lines to Comments To Myself. Then you can slide the comment lines around to check fit with another part - but only in 2D.

The other option is to design the parts individually , export them then import them into another application to view them all together. I know the goal is to design and view in emachineshop, but it is an option.
