Thu Aug 20, 2009 12:52 am color missing from material dialog after design starts |
|
|
|
For the material "ABS for molding", if you select the material at the start of the job, there is a color selection drop-down in the lower-right corner of the material dialog. If you bring up the material dialog later in the design, there is not color selection dialog. Furthermore, the design check process refuses to proceed without a color. Therefore, all your design time is totally wasted if you forget to set the material color up front. If you ever try to change to another material and then try to change back, the design file is permanently useless.

We expect to resolve this issue in a future release of the software. To work-around currently you can override the color specified using Job | Material | Request special material or comments to Machinist in workspace.

Will that allow the design checks to run?

You will be able to get quotation in case any color is already selected. Otherwise please select required color in new empty design and move your regions into this design using Select All, Copy, Paste features.

I'm trying to create a rubber part, and have been running into this problem.
Selecting the material at the outset doesn't help either.

Resolved =) I had overlooked a small menu that specifies colors.
