If you try to ungroup some lines, some automatic "helper" regroups them before you have a chance to do anything useful. Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a simple cylinder.
2. Create a 'revolve' shape consisting of straight lines. When the shape is complete, it will be automatically grouped.
3. Attempt to ungroup to edit any single line. The regroup "helper" will regroup it faster than you can do any edits.

I guess you have 3D preview shown while trying to change Revolve line. Close 3D window and edit your the Revolve line. Regions are closed automatically when you choose Analyze and Price or 3D Preview features.
