Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:34 am Error : Required radius is not specified |
|
|
On several designs ready for ordering, when asking for pricing, the new version of the software displays the following message : "Error : Required radius of inside corners is not specified. Please specify using Job Settings / Specifications Auto".
Trouble is that when I choose values for the specifications on the Job Settings / Specifications Auto, I get the same error message. And I can't get my pricing / order done.
- I tried different values, but I always reach the same outcome.
- I tried with various designs, going to the most simple ones, and I always get on this situation.
Would you please recommend me the right way out of this problem ?
Many thanks in advance,
Xavier

Do you get a dialog "All machines are incompatible - to proceed resolve one of more of the following"? If so, you need to do that.

No.
The software displays the window with the following message : "Error : Required radius of inside corners is not specified. Please specify using Job Settings / Specifications Auto".
Clicking on OK aborts the pricing process. Clicking on "Correct Manually" leads to the Job Setting / Specification Auto page. After having selected tolerance, radius, flatness and roughness, a click on OK reverts to the window described at previous paragraph.
I use version 1.62. Previous version(s) of eMachineShop worked flawlessly on my PC (running Windows XP 2002 Service Pack 2).
Many thanks for your help,
Xavier

I'm using V 1.62. Here are the steps I see:
File Open ...
Job | Price/Analyze
Error: Required radius ...
Correct Manually
Set Radius to .2
OK
All machines are incompatible. To proceed resolve one or more of the following...
Please try the above steps carefully and let me know if there is some deviation.

Thank you for your answer. I followed exactly the same steps as you indicated :
File Open ...
Job | Price/Analyze
Error: Required radius ...
Correct Manually
Set Radius to .2
OK
This leads to the following prompt: "Error : Required radius of inside corners is not specified. Please specify using Job | Settings | Specifications : Auto" (which is the same window as the original error message).
Best regards,
Xavier

Please decrease general tolerance to +/-0.005".

Your last answer helped me find a solution ... but I think I found a bug in version 1.62.
I run eMS in millimeters. Based on your comment, 1) I first reduced general tolerance to the minimum value - but this did not solve the problem, and launching the Price / Analyze process kept on bumping on the same Error prompt. 2) As you had indicated a tolerance in inches, I went into Edit|Preferences and selected "All dimensions in" Inches. 3) I selected 0.005" tolerange in Job|Settings|Specifications Auto. 4) Price / Analyze process then worked perfectly. 5) What is funny is that I can re-selected Millimeters in Edit|Preferences and it still works.
I tried to reproduce the bug on a very simple design (50mm diameter, 20mm high aluminium cylinder, no other lines). If you start and keep designing in Millimeters, the behaviour of the Price / Analyze process I encountered happens again.
In any case, I wish to thank you for the invaluable help you quickly and repeatedly provided since yesterday.
Best regards,
Xavier

"To whom it may concern, I just received my initial order (test run for one prototype) of 55 pieces. The machining is excellent, the parts are absolutely perfect. They fit together exactly as I had planed and designed. The machining stayed well within the tolerances allowed, and the parts turned out just as I had hoped. I have already assembled ..."
