why i cant see what i draw

hi
i just recently downloaded your cad software.
i have no drawing exprience .
when i choose for example - according the guide - a rectangle shape and draws it ,it appears in shape of dotted rectangle . no red solid lines as appears in the video guide.

when i click on another shape like circle to create holes ,the rectangle shape disappears.

why does it happes?
