1. If I design one item and determine it will work in a real life application and want more of that one item, does the cost of the first item go into the bulk order? In other words, I don't know if a design will work until I get it in person and it costs $200 for one unit and $500 for 100 units. If I figure out that the unit works, do I have to pay the $495 for the other 99 units or does the $200 go towards that $500 and I only have to pay $295?

2. If I'm designing a prototype and the unit does not work in a real life application. I then make minor changes to the design and re-order. Do I get hammered with the huge cost of the first unit again or does the cost of the first unit that failed in a real life application go towards the cost of the slightly modified unit?

3. If I design a part and have emachineshop.com make it real. Does emachineshop.com claim ownership of the design?

4. I've gone through all of the video tutorials on this site and I don't feel capable of designing whatever I want. Is there anywhere I can go to further educate myself on how to build my own parts?

5. When I look at the samples that come with emachineshop.com's software, is there anyway to reverse engineer the sample so I can figure out how it was built?

Thanks!

1,2 - Custom manufacturing has an extra cost for the first unit due to setup costs. Setup must be done for each order. Setup costs however are lower on subsequent runs when tooling is involved - such as injection molding.

3 - You own your own designs.

4 - If you still need help you might want to use our Design Service to assist you over the phone for a half hour or so to get you started but there is a fee - see the site.

5 - Yes - just look at each view and see how they are drawn.

"I bought some Sparco racing seats for my BMW Z4 but i could not find any single company that made a custom seat bracket for my car. I found this website and at first was not too sure what would become of it. I downloaded the CAD software and was amazed at how easy it was. Being that my brackets were mostly square with 4 bends, i finished them and ..."
