What do those small hovering discs on the 3D preview mean?

Customer> Every time I apply the thread machine, it makes a little hovering disk in the 3D view. I'm not sure what that means.

The small disk symbolizes threading on the 3D preview to remind you that the item is threaded. You can turn this off in Edit | Preferences.
