help with Debian GNU/Linux

I saw that user 'twixter' was successful getting emachineshop.exe working under Wine in Kubuntu. On Debian Sid, I get locked in a "fix" loop during setup, as I can't drag the shapes nor see the "test" strings. Any ideas would be appreciated. When I boot to Vista, it works fine without having to click "fix", so the hardware is capable. But I'd rather not have to boot to Vista every time I want to use the software. Thanks -- jc
