I am trying to submit my design to have it produced but it won't allow me too. The reason is that it has a sharp corner where a keyway slot meets the bore. Is there a private email where I can send this design, I don't wish to upload a finished design to an open forum.

Milling cannot create sharp inside corners in recesses or holes. You would need to use a different machine for that feature. Also see:

Please re-read my post before giving me the cookie cutter answer yet again. The keyway is milled and creates the sharp edge where IT MEETS THE BORE. It is an outside corner, not an inside corner.

If your design is confidential you might want to remove features except those related to the issue at hand. Or you can use Help | Troubleshooting in the CAD for private communication but you will usually get a quicker response here.

I sent it that way last night. It runs my computer out of memory when I try to send it for production. I don't know if it contains an error, or if it is just to large. The computer I'm using to draw with is 2400 with 2Gb of memory.

I understand one of our guys is working on part of this design. As for the sharp corners, those are sharp inside corners even though they appear near the outside of your shape.

I see that I misunderstood the key way issue. You simply need to unify the key way with the circle into one closed shape, removing the small arc that separates them.

About the error during pricing, thanks for pointing this out - will will address it in a future upgrade. To work-around currently please:
1. In top view select all peripheral cutouts except one and choose Line | Machine | Comments to Machinist. Click OK.
2. In the workspace add text "Cut these regions similar to the Milled sample line."
3. Do the same for peripheral cutouts in the bottom view.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

"I am not very well versed in utilizing CAD programs but I found your site and information to be the best that I have seen so far. With a minimal amount of tutorial time I was able to design a bracket and look at the 3D version which allowed me to see a potential problem with the design. You folks are definitely one of the most valuable sites I ..."
