You can uninstall by Windows Control Panel but there is no need to do so. If you did the upgrade using the download manager utility application try reinstalling via site menu Software | Download.

I tried to uninstall v1.53 using the control panel but it reported that it appeared that the program was already uninstalled and just offered to remove the icon from the program list. I declined and then scanned my system with my virus & malware software. I then ran the windows file checker and used a utility to uninstall emachineshop completely. The uninstall utility searched the registry and removed all traces of the program. I then downloaded v1.55 directly from the site and installed it. The install appeared to have no problems but when it attempted to open the program at the end of the install process, it displayed 3 error messages. I have attached screen captures of these errors in a word file.

This is the same problem I have had from the start when trying to install v1.55. Has anyone else been having this problem and have you been able to solve it?

What version of windows are you using? Anything unusual running in the system tray?

I am using Win98SE and I had disabled the aps running in the tray before attempting the install. I have had no problems with earlier versions of the software

The problem is likely related to a new feature that allows tracing an image in another application. This feature seems to be not working under Windows 98. We expect to fix this problem in the next release.

Thanks, at least I now know what may be causing the problem. How long until the next release?

Can you please tell me how I can go back and use v1.53?

When I uninstall v1.55 and install v1.53 I can't use it because I am confronted with an upgrade notice. If I click on this it downloads v1.55 and I am back where I started.

I am half way through a project and would like to continue working on it if possible.

When do you think this problem will be fixed.

I am in Melbourne Australia so can't telephone you.

I was not aware until now that we do not support Win 98 which is 10 years old. And our CAD v1.53 would not work with the current price file. You would need to borrow some time on a CPU with a modern version of Windows.
