Additive Extrusion? Straight Far Edge?

I am using eMachineShop v1.69.1.1, compilation date June 7 2010, price file number 2070.

I finished designing a part; I am concerned about 2 things that show up when I click Job -> Price/Analyze.


1: Clicking the "4 Machines" button opens another dialog that directs the user to Job -> Settings -> Specifications: Auto, and to turn on Additive Extrusion. I don't know what additive extrusion is, and I clicked the "?" button next to "Allow additive extrusion" for more information. That opens the following web page:

This page does not explain what additive extrusion is. I understand that this is not a bug in the software; it is only a mistake in documentation (which is excellent otherwise!). I am interested in this feature if it offers some cost reduction.


2: The Analyzer pane on the right side of the main screen shows a row containing "Auto", "Error: Selected hole(s) may be too large for drilling. Please switch to straight far edge." What does "switch to straight far edge" mean? There is a hole in my design that is ~14mm in diameter; I am attaching it for reference.

I understand that this is not technically a bug either. I need to know if there is a problem with my design, and I need to know how to correct it.
