Hi, I have two questions regarding putting text on a 3D design with the 3-axis mill...
1) After I put the text, select the "3-axis mill tool", the text is auto-converted, etc... it looks fine in the 3D view, however when I run the "Analyzer" it gives an error on almost every letter saying there is a sharp point in the letter not conducive to milling, and recommends curving the edge in those spots. The radius it suggests is so large, it makes the letter no longer look like a letter. How should I deal with this?
2) Is there any way to get the lettering colored differently than the rest of the material, so that it stands out a little better?
Thanks,
James

1 - Per Text you need to use the Mill font.
2 - Silk screening will stand out better. For milled text use Comments To Machinist "Fill with color black" for example.

I was using the Mill font.... I think my letters are just too small for the Mill tool? And now that eMachineShop does not even let you select machines... just defaults to "Auto" without offering any other options... I'm more confused.
My material is plastic, and when I tried to do lettering in silk screening instead, it said it was not compatible with my material... that's when I noticed no plastic is compatible with silk screening apparently. If I email you my design file, could you look at the lettering situation for me?
Thanks,
James

Hi,
Is it possible to radius text to a curve?
I am building a wheel and I would like to have text around the outer hub? Is this possible?

Yes it's possible but you need to use comments to machinist to specify it.
