Fri Oct 02, 2009 1:04 pm Making parts out of different materials.
I was wondering. If I make a part that uses general machines like a lathe, milling, machine, water jet, etc. Can I add comments to the machinist to specify making the part out of more that one material. For example. If I made an aluminum hub could I get 2 made of 6061 aluminum and 2 made out of 4130 chromoly steel. If so this would be really cool as some of the parts I am designing I would like to prototype with a few different materials. So in essence the same exact part made out of different materials using the same order.
Thanks!

Yes you can but it will increase cost moderately.

would it be cheaper to make two orders or combine them.
