Wed Feb 17, 2010 2:21 pm Error on Analyzer |
|
|
Hello,
I attached 2 parts that I designed. When I ran the Analyzer (F9) it reports error/warning that I do not know how to correct. The 3D Preview (Ctrl + R) shows the parts the way I would like them to be built.
Can you please let me know if the parts are ready for manufacturing, and also if I can optimize them for lower manufacturing cost?
It is very difficult to understand from the Analyzer report how to fix them (I am not a mechanical engineer...)
Thanks,
EitanB

The very thin slots are impractical to machine.
For cost reduction see Reducing Cost & Time.
Which words in which warnings are unclear for you?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
1. How would you modify the design to achieve "The very thin slots"? I have seen similar parts that had these slots. The slots purpose is to be like a ruler (2mm apart). I think the Analyzer is "complaining" about the ends of each slots. Am I correct? The 3D view of the part shows exactly what I am trying to do.
2. The link to cost reduction is too general. I am not sure how to apply it in my two design. Any specific suggestion/advise will be welcomed!
3. On the design of the FronSight_Leg_C, there are errors about holes being too deep. The 3D view draws it correctly so I an not sure if I have to do something?
4. Bug Report: When going through the Analyzer report of FronSight_Leg_C the software crashes with Internal Error and I have restart the software.
5. The two parts are a pair, I would like to submit them only if both can be manufactured not just one. How do I submit them as a pair?
Thanks,
EitanB

1. I am not aware of an economical way other than silk screening. You could also laser engrave but we don't do that. The analyzer is complaining about the arc radius.
2. I don't have specific suggestions beyond those covered at the link.
3. The holes are OK in this case.
4. Will look into it.
5. Use Comments to Machinist to specify such conditions.
