I just designed a milled part out of 316L and would like to use it "as is" with no type of finishing. Is this fine for a part that may see several days or perhaps weeks at a time submerged in saltwater (maybe longer) on the hull of a sailboat. Does the fact that it is unfinished have any affect on it's use underwater? ie will it pit easier, etc...??

Also, does anyone have photos of what an unfinished milled 316L part looks like? I would like to see how it looks.

Thanks!!
