Sat Oct 03, 2009 12:20 pm My rollerskate wheel hub project Reply with quote

Ok I sent off my order today.
Getting an aluminum hub made for rollerskate wheels.

I have re-designed a copy of a plastic hub from a wheel made in the 80's, using a smaller diameter bearing to create a lighter harder wheel to increase roll. Where the original plastic hub would flex under weight, the aluminum hub should not, increasing roll and speed.

This has come about because a local Aussie has started creating his own tires to replace the original tire.

So I'll be able to roll on brand new hubs and tires.

I am surprised and disapointed a bit this forum has not had more people share their jobs.

I found this website and at first was not too sure what would become of it. I downloaded the CAD software and was amazed at how easy it was. Being that my brackets were mostly square with 4 bends, i finished them and ..."
