Bolt Hole Size

I was wondering. When I make a non threaded hole for a bolt. How can a figure out what size it needs to be so that it will fit but not be loose.

If you plan to tap the hole yourself then use any machinist handbook or web to get the diameter value required for a certain thread. On the contrary you can specify tapping of your hole using Line | Machine | Thread and eMachineShop will tap your hole.

no the hole wont be tapped. The bolt will go through one piece of material and into another and have a nut on the other side. I just didn't want any slop between the two pieces.

Then you can use Line | Machine | Thread to get drill diameter value required for such thread.

oh good idea. And then I can add a couple thousands to make sure the bolt will go.
