I am trying to make a box out of 0.050 steel that is 10.750 x 5.875 x 1.720. When I draw it with bends at these dimensions, the box comes out too big. How do I calculate where to put the bends so that the box comes out the right size? Thanks.
Thank you. I have read the articles at the link. Is there no mathematical calculation I can do, based on the material thickness and bend radius, that will give me the answer? Or am I stuck with trial and error and temporary guidelines? Thanks again for your time.

The math is complex and the CAD does it for you. You can create exact results in one iteration so I'm not sure that would be classified as trial and error.

I added a page that describes how to do the above step by step Adjusting Bends.
