Fri Sep 11, 2009 5:28 pm Machine ID List - What machines are being used? What's what? |
|
|
Ok, so you put a little design together, click Analyze and you're offered a price and some other options. But you have no idea how your part will be executed, on what machines, using what processes etc.
Or, when price reduction options are offered, or incompatibilities or whatever, all machines are shown as 4-digit Machine IDs. Is there a list of these IDs and their corresponding machines that we can consult so that we have an iidea of what we're dealing with? Lasers, water jets, perhaps a dremel toting leprechaun?

How about just a few common ones?
Because such a list is likely not a top priority for eMS right now, perhaps we could identify at least some of the most "popular" machines with the help of our community here. I'm sure it would be a helpful resource for everybody.
In light of this, please share anything you know perhaps during a past order or maybe just from working with the software. For example, if you once needed some wooden boards with rounded edges and a hole in the middle and the software suggested Machine 2500 & Machine 1000, then it's safe to assume that 2500 is a vanilla wood router and 1000 is a drill.

That would be a wasted effort as we are continuing to evolve how that part of the system works.
