Heat sinks are used in many electronic devices to keep electronic components cool. New products and designs often require new custom heat sinks.

eMachineShop customers have made a wide variety of custom heat sinks. Heat sinks are usually made from aluminum or copper. Generally the following processes are used:

• CNC Bending
• Blanking
• CNC Laser Cutting allows for lower cost when sheet metal is sufficient.
  
• CNC Milling allows to create much more intricate features that increase surface area compared to the 2D processes.
• CNC Plasma Cutting
• Threading
• CNC Turret Punching
• Shearing
