Hello,

I'm new here, so if I'm posting in the wrong spot or asking something that's been asked before, please accept my apologies (I did a search...)

I'm designing a flat aluminum part that will have a tapped hole. The hole won't need to hold more than a pound or two. With either 5052 or 6061 stock, will .125" thick stock be thick enough for a reliable hold? There won't be much leverage on the hole - the greatest mass of the payload will likely be within six inches of the hole.

Thanks for any help!

Dave
