I'm trying to build a custom side door for my computer case. The only problem is that one 320mm x 240mm x 1.5mm slab of aluminum is being quoted around $90 + Shipping. That's far too much for this project. I would have better luck with a dremel and a hammer if that were the case
I want to use similar materials as what's used in Lian Li computer cases. I found a 2mm thick 500mm x 500mm black anodized aluminum panel online at performance-pcs.com for only $35. If I were to have the materials shipped to eMachineShop, would that greatly reduce the cost?
The picture below are what I was going to try to do. If you guys know how to make this happen for less than $100, then I'm all ears. Keep in mind, the case itself isn't even $200, so I can't really justify much more than $100 for 2 more fans.
So, essentially the majority of the cost is due to setup? I guess that makes more sense. Is there a way to find out costs if I supplied my own materials?
