I have designed a large mounting plate out of 6061 aluminum (.25" thick). It is a simple 2d part with about 50 holes, some clearance, some drilled and tapped. However my last step was to countersink around 12 of the holes. When I added that operation it doubled the price of the part? And it more than doubled the lead time. Is this a bug? I can't imagine why this operation would double the cost or significantly increase the lead time, even if it was done manually. Please advise. Thank you.

Adding edge effects turns your job from 2D to 3D. In situations like this you can use Comments To Machinist to specify the countersinks. Countersinks with 2D parts will be supported in a future version.

I figured that. But is that an accurate quote then? And if it isn't how can I go about obtaining an accurate quote before the next software release comes out?

This still doesn't really answer my question. To do what you are saying I would have to already have placed the order before I knew what it would cost. Will you review files manually for the more accurate estimate without committing to purchasing them first?

Yes you must place an order and should do so only if you are willing to accept a price between $0 and $25 above the base price. Your approval will be requested (after manual price review) if the additional cost exceeds $25. You are not required to accept.
