I am trying to finish a teardrop shape mold half made from quater inch aluminum. When two mold halves are put together and mateial is poured into the mold, the result is a teardrop shaped object. Attached is a single cavity section from an 11 cavity mold. The sprue hole and and other design aspects have been completed. The problem I am having is designing a teardrop shape into the mold half. The top view shows a 2D shape I am seeking but when looking at the other views (side or front/back) it does not carry similar angels to produce the teardrop shape. I have used the Machine/Auto/ FarEdge selections but do not get the effect that i am seeking. Using this tool it mills the entire surface to the same level (same z-value top and Bottom of the teardrop). Is there a way to mill the teardrop shape so that it has similar angles to the top view? If anyone has any informaiton on how to complete this it wil certainly help as I have 6 more designs with similar shapes.
