Welding two pieces together that are on same drawing

I have designed a box and a separate piece on the same drawing. I can put note on drawing for machinist to locate and spot weld(a little side sketch in 'note to machinist' lines). I also want the assembly painted. The little bracket that will be welded to the box does not have any holes in it. When I try to run the Price/Analyze, it complains that there are no holes in the bracket.
Will I need to make a separate drawing of each piece? Can box drawing refer other drawing of bracket? If each piece does need it's own drawing and I do not request the bracket to be painted on it's drawing, will a note on box drawing get the whole assembly painted?

You can use Line | Machine | Weld | Spot for the spot welds. We don't paint but we do offer powder coating which is generally better. Holes are needed to hang parts during powder coating. You can use one drawing. You can specify whatever you want using Comments To Machinist.
