I originally thought that this would be easy, but sadly it seems like it is not. I have seen other peoples posts about a globe and a sphere, but I am unable to come up with my envisioned design. Imagine if you will a hollow polycarbonate sphere that is 12" in diameter. Now cut that sphere in half and thread both halves so that you are able to screw both halves together. This gives you a whole smooth sphere when both halves are screwed together. Each half of the sphere will have some small diameter 2" or 3" cylinders attached to the inside in order to mount some custom printed circuit boards that I have designed. The pcbs have four holes drilled at the corners which I will mount with some screws that screw into the cylinders. I think I have explained my design well enough in order to give a clear picture, so..... Is this possible Question

Possible? Yes. Inexpensive? No. Use the Revolve feature for the semi's and Comments to Machinist for the threads and posts.

Cost isn't really a factor as far as I'm concerned. I need a prototype housing. I have been working on the internals now for over eight months, and I am finally finished. I see you offer support for a fee. If I am unable to come up with a design that fits my requirements and vision would I be able to have this done for me by one of your staff members. I could model what I need with a cg program I have and render photo realistic pictures of what I want along with all of the dimensions clearly listed corresponding with the layout of the internal posts and the battery compartment that I left out of my initial description.

Download CAD Software

"A friend of mine said that he has tried various CAD programs over the years and none has been sufficiently easy for him the master with the exception of the software from emachineshop.com. He swears by it, and says that for the first time he finds himself going directly to the drawing software rather than pencil and paper."
