Available stock tooling?

According to the machine descriptions, the prices for work done with the turret punch, thread taps etc. depends on whether the size specified on the drawing matches one of your stock tools or not. I also guess that the pricing code in the CAD program knows about what those stock tools are.

Question But iis there a human readable list somewhere, so users can design their parts to be suitable for the stock tools?

Idea Such a list would be especially useful when designing mating parts where one part can be made by a stock tool and the other can be designed to any reasonable size as long as the designer knows the size and tolerance of the the part made by the stock tool.

The bolded values in the Z drop list are recommended but you can use other values.

Confused Ah, so the bolded values in the Z drop down list are the recommended stock materials ?

Exclamation I was asking about stock tooling for machines such as the turret punch. These are not just numbers, they are combines of shape, size and function.

Wink A hypothetical example for a turret punch: "Rectangular 0.1" x 0.2", max thickness 0.3" steel 0.5" Al", "circular diameter 10mm, max thickness 0.1" steel 0.2" Al", "L shaped, width of long edge 1" x 0.25", short edge 0.75" x 0.125", edge length measured on outside edge, max thickness 0.05" steel 0.1" Al" (price 2), "Pentagram shape, 1.5" between farthest tips, max thickness 0.15" steel 0.3" Al " (price 3) etc. etc.

Sad The page you link to lists the circular stock tools available for your CNC turret punch, but none of the other CNC turret punch stock tools and none of the stock tools for other machines.

Exclamation In other machine shops I have seen or heard about there are at least stock tools for various rectangular shapes and tools for making extruded holes etc.

Idea For comparison, here is the turret punch tool list from another company

"When a bracket of my shower door broke, I was looking at a complete enclosure replacement, north of six hundred bucks, since the model I had was not manufactured anymore. In desperation, I designed a replacement bracket using my qCAD software. When I was looking for somebody to machine it, I found your company on the Internet and downloaded your ..."
